Piggyback Birding. My thought is this. Love birds. Love birding. I was a photographer first in so many respects, so this comes with me everywhere. My photography grew more with birding than any other genre.
I have the gear, the eye, the technology and the gumption to piggyback on your birding trips. I am a Canon girl. For birding I use a 600mm L series lens (so love this) 4.0 with an extender so my reach is 840. I tried the 800 lens and it wasn't for me. I also work with a 2.8 70 to 200mm L series lens.
Here is the deal: I follow you. I record and document your sightings. I will miss some of them. "Birders only" move faster than a photo chick because I need to hoist up the mighty glass, find, focus, adjust for light etc. And if the bird moves (imagine that) then I might keep scanning, but I won't be more than a few dozen steps away for your next bird.
My job is to be your shadow, a quiet presence, invisible if you wish. I can make myself scarce. You get me to where I need to be, and by this I mean, you pay for the plane, bus, train, gasoline, and then a room for me (nothing fancy), some food and water. For every hour out shooting you pay me. I prorate to the minute. Someday maybe I'll smarten up and make it a "package," but probably not. I like keeping it simple.
What do you think?
